ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Your child must be toilet trained and be at a stage of growth and development where he or she can benefit from our preschool program.
SNACKS:
We feel this is an important part of the preschool day. We would like to have the parents provide nutritional snacks, such as crackers, fruits, or vegetables, on a rotating basis throughout the year. The child that brings the snack for the week enjoys helping to plan what they will bring and give it out to their friends during snack time.
PARENT'S CALENDAR:
Approximately every 6 weeks your child will bring home a calendar that is especially for you as parents. It will keep you informed as to our theme, special events, field trips, color of the week, snack and spotlight child assignments, tuition reminder and other pertinent information.
SHARING:
Each child will have an opportunity to share ONCE A WEEK. Your child’s sharing day will be assigned at the beginning of the year. They may bring special things from home (no guns or other weapons, please) or talk about something they did. We encourage items from nature or things they have discovered or made. Other toys or favorite things are also fine. If they choose to bring things to show and tell about on other days, they may share them with the teachers and their friends at the first of preschool then put them in their cubby.
COLOR OF THE WEEK:
We talk about one specific color during carpet time on the first day of the week. (Monday or Tuesday) To help make this fun and also aid us in our color songs and games, we would like the children to wear clothes of that color on those days or colors when mixed together make the color of the week. Check your parent’s calendar for the color of the week.
SPOTLIGHT:
During carpet time, we spotlight one of the children. Please bring photos with family pictures of home, pets or activities your child enjoys. We will then make a poster with those photos. The week before your child will be spotlighted we will send a notice home and we ask you to fill out a spotlight questionnaire about your child and return it to us along with the photos you would like to share.
PHONE CALLS:
Our preschool number is 488-5722. We will try to answer during preschool hours or you may leave a message on our answering machine. Please call us at our homes before 8:00 a.m. on preschool mornings or other times during the afternoon or evening if you have concerns or questions.
TUITION:
A $35.00 registration fee is required when your child enrolls. It is $60.00 for 5-day program.
Tuition for Mon. Wed. Fri. Program is on a payment plan of $150 a month.
Tuition for the Tues. Thurs. Program is $105 a month.
The fee varies in Dec. and June. We follow the Ashland School District calendar for most holiday and vacation closures. Tuition is due the first week of the month. A late fee of $10 will be charged if payment is not received by the 15 th of the month.
PAYMENT DUE:
Tuition is due the first of the month. A $10 late fee will be charged if payment is not received by the 15th.
TRANSPORTATION or EARLY ARRIVAL:
We provide transportation (within the Ashland city limits) to the preschool by picking up your child at a day-care provider for $3.00 a day. We also provide transportation after preschool for $2.00 a day. You may do this on a regular basis or by daily request. Limited slots are available. If your child arrives at preschool before 8:45 a.m. a $1.50 fee will be charged.
INVITATIONS:
We would ask you to not bring party invitations to be distributed at school. It causes hurt feelings when some receive an invitation in their cubby and others do not. Please be considerate of these types of situations. We would be happy to give you a list of addresses of the children in class so you can mail your invitations. Thank you.
MEMORY BOOKS:
We feel that making pleasant memories is a wonderful goal a preschool could have and preserving those memories is wonderful fun too. At the end of the preschool year, you will have the opportunity to make a special book of memories for your child. We will provide photos we have taken throughout the year in preschool, on field trips and special activities. Please save your child’s crafts etc. for this special book.
SECURITY:
Since we are at a church building that many people use for various activities we find it necessary to have the doors locked at all times. We do not want to have people come in that we do not know and for the safety of your child we ask them not to open the doors to anyone. We welcome you to come and visit any time. It is important that we know who is to pick up your child each day. |
